Description:
In her first feature film, Atayal director Chen Chieh-yao returns to her ancestral village to investigate the story of Sayun, an Atayal girl who died at the end of World War II while trying to deliver a Japanese teacher's belongings during a flood. The film begins when a television crew arrives in the Atayal village of Tyohemg, in Yilan County, drawn by the legend of Sayun. Yukan, a local high school student and hunter, is initially puzzled by the crew’s interest. However, his grandfather’s memories of Sayun, a classmate, spark his curiosity about the old village, which the community was forced to abandon fifty years ago.
