Description:
Philippe, an obscure artist, has a mistress he doesn't love. When he discovers his paintings are about to be seized, Philippe decides to escape to the French Riviera and spend his usual relaxed vacation at his friend Paule's villa. On the way, he meets Manette, a beautiful but impoverished young woman he offers a summer companionship in exchange for room and board. Philippe is accustomed to having a companion, so Manette's presence doesn't cause any issues. However, she soon feels uncomfortable in this unusual setting and begins to develop feelings for Philippe, who may not be as detached as he pretends to be.
