In 16th-century Portugal, a secret map known as the Padrão Real was kept hidden in the Map Room of the Casa da Índia. Constantly revised with each new voyage, it was a vital tool for navigators charting unknown territories. Using scientific instruments to measure distances and celestial navigation, they envisioned the vast expanses they had explored, drawing lines that defined new lands. Upon returning from sea, they adapted the map, erasing old boundaries and establishing new ones. Over time, the original map was lost. Now, only a stolen copy remains, painstakingly recreated from memory by a cartographer seeking to deceive their rivals.
