Description:
Borden's experimental film examines the relationships within a women's group. Through interviews with people who know them, like Joan Jonas, the group films staged "artistic" scenes, but Borden senses they aren't truly addressing sexuality and politics. The film questions whether they are a serious collective or simply friends. When the group sees an early version, they react with anger and solidarity. Undeterred, Borden incorporates their feedback into a new edit, featuring wider shots of the group discussing the original footage and consciousness-raising movements. Uncredited voices include Barbara Kruger and Kathryn Bigelow.
