Description:
In July 1944, German forces uncover a connection between a Carabinieri barracks and the Italian Resistance. As a result, Carabinieri Sebastiano Pandolfo and a young partisan are executed. Three other Carabinieri – Alberto La Rocca, Vittorio Marandola, and Fulvio Sbarretti – escape and attempt to join the Resistance. The Germans then take ten civilians hostage, threatening their lives unless the Carabinieri surrender. Hearing this news just as they are about to reach the partisans, the three Carabinieri decide to surrender, upholding their duty as symbols of law and justice, and saving the hostages' lives.
