Description:
The city of San Francisco is shocked when Robert Ironside, the city's tough chief of detectives, is shot and nearly killed while on vacation at his friend the Police Commissioner's countryside home. Ironside survives, but the injury leaves him paralyzed from the waist down. Unable to return to his job, he's allowed to continue investigating crimes as a volunteer. With help from two former officers, Det. Sgt. Ed Brown and Officer Eve Whitfield, and a new assistant, Mark Sanger, Ironside begins his first case: uncovering the people who tried to murder him.
