Developed during the Cold War and overshadowed by advancements in rocketry, the XB-70 Valkyrie was designed as a high-speed bomber capable of Mach 3 altitudes. It evolved into a crucial research aircraft, despite only two being built – one of which was lost in an accident. The Valkyrie’s flight tests generated a significant amount of data vital to future aviation development. This DVD presents nearly four hours of rare, newly restored footage documenting the XB-70's flight test program. Included are rare progress reports, footage from its initial rollout, extensive coverage of test flights, and footage from the tragic A/V-2 accident. All footage is in color, with some portions presented without sound.
