Description:
Scientists are calling it the "Pit of Death," others "Dinosaur Pompeii." The site contains dinosaur corpses piled high, with many newly discovered, well-preserved skeletons – some never seen before. These include a bizarre ancestor of the T. rex, an ancestor of the triceratops, an ancient crocodilian, and nearly 40 other species dating back 160 million years, a period of dinosaur history poorly understood. Unearthed in the dry Junggar Basin of western China, a team of paleontologists are uncovering answers to this mystery in dinosaur evolution. The bones are examined, reconstructed with high-resolution CGI, and brought to life, slowly revealing who these dinosaurs were, how they died, and what they can teach us about the Lost Age of the Dinosaurs.
