This Is Cosmos (2014)

Anton Vidokle’s film, inspired by the ideas of Russian philosopher Nikolai Fedorov, was filmed in Siberia, Crimea, and Kazakhstan. Fedorov believed death was an error, arguing that the universe's energy is eternal, true religion honors ancestors, and genuine equality lies in immortality for everyone. He was a Cosmo-Immortalist, a group of thinkers who arose in Russia during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They combined Western Enlightenment with Russian Orthodoxy and Eastern philosophy, along with Marxism, to develop a unique philosophical system. These Russian cosmists didn’t envision outer space when they spoke of the cosmos; instead, they aimed to create a new, improved world on Earth – a reality free from suffering and inequality, akin to communism.
