Description:
"Merry Fellows," the first Soviet musical comedy, is set in Odessa and Moscow during the 1930s. Shepherd Kostya Potekhin (Utyosov) is mistaken for a famous international concert star. He falls for Anyuta (Orlova) and pretends to be the star for her. Amidst lively musical numbers, he leads a jazz band and puts on a funny show at the Odessa Music Hall. He then finds himself on a path to performing at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.
