Closer Than That: A Documentary on Low (2004)

Over two years, *Closer Than That* follows the members of Duluth "slo-core" band Low (Alan Sparhawk, Mimi Parker, and Zak Sally) as they look through old photos, handle awkward press interviews, spend time with their baby, deal with traffic, and share thoughts on music, spirituality, and life. Director Marc Gartman traveled with them on tour across the US and Europe, filming both their performances and intimate moments backstage and while traveling. Before a European show, Alan is asked how they'd like to be introduced, and he replies, "slow...quiet...really nice people with a baby." This film offers a glimpse into the genuine, unassuming people behind the acclaimed minimal rock band.
