In the week leading up to Halloween, Jason Hollway's parents separate, and his father leaves. Feeling down, Jason resists going trick-or-treating with his friends Jenn, Ted, and Austin. His mother and grandfather try to cheer him up with a visit to a pumpkin patch and the promise of a party later. The neighborhood is haunted by a local legend: twenty-five years ago, a son murdered his father. As a result, everyone is scared of Sam Hain, and they flee when he answers their doorbell. Throughout the night, the friends discuss the Sam Hain house, and one by one, Jason's friends vanish. Eventually, he's alone with a silent Pumpkin Man approaching Sam Hain's door. What will Jason do?
