Neurotypical (2013)

Neurotypical offers a unique look at autism, told directly by autistic individuals. The film follows four-year-old Violet, teenager Nicholas, and adult Paula, each navigating significant life transitions while existing at different points on the autism spectrum. Their experiences and the reactions of those around them highlight the contrast between the "neurotypical" world – the world of non-autistic people – and their own. The film reveals creative adaptations made by both sides and presents a growing examination of societal definitions of normalcy and what it truly means to be human.
