Viva Ingrid! (2015)

This film uses original newsreels, clips from Roberto Rossellini's movies featuring the actress, and especially personal home movies made by Ingrid Bergman herself to tell the story of her Italian years, 1948 to 1956. These eight years encompass her significant relationship with Roberto Rossellini, their three children, and five notable films. It’s an Italian journey seen through Ingrid's perspective, where she takes on the role of "director," offering an emotional and sometimes exotic view of the country, blending family life with the glamorous lifestyle of the Dolce Vita. The actress herself narrates, using interviews and archival footage, except for a famous letter to Roberto Rossellini, read by their daughter Isabella.
