Description:
After serving eight years in the army, RJ (Matt Singletary) returns to Chicago and discovers his hometown has become a dangerous landscape mirroring the war zones he experienced. His Uncle Richard (Harlem Globe Trotter Curley Boo Johnson), who raised him, warns him about the city's harsh realities: nighttime danger, powerful gangs, drugs, and the importance of not trusting anyone. The film explores whether they can break the cycle of violence and protect the community's children. This modern take on the Robin Hood story features heightened action and heroism while examining the issues plaguing Chicago neighborhoods. RJ becomes a heroic figure, teaming up with Father Benjamin Tuck (Malik Yoba), Marian (Mahogany Monae), his childhood love who now leads the community center, and fellow soldiers to combat the drug trade and gang warfare that has taken hold.
