Description:
This documentary tells the story of overlooked figures in World War II. In 1943, a 24-year-old mathematics student and a British Government Post Office engineer worked together to crack Hitler’s highly secure code machine, known as his 'secrets writer' – a system far more complex than Enigma. Their success was pivotal, influencing the Battle of Kursk, enabling the D-Day landings, and ultimately contributing to the end of the war in Europe. However, their achievements were kept secret and unacknowledged after the war, as the technology was intended for use during the Cold War.
