This film explores a seemingly perfect German family living just outside Berlin, whose carefully constructed world begins to unravel under external pressures. It’s a quiet examination of human longing, isolation, denial, and moral decline. The Larsens appear to be an idyllic upper-middle-class family. However, Markus, the architect father, harbors a secret bisexual life, leaving his wife Christine and daughter Elisabeth feeling profoundly alone. Markus develops a powerful desire for one of Elisabeth's classmates, 12-year-old Johannes, and increasingly dominates the boy’s life. Christine senses her husband’s emotional detachment, but only Elisabeth perceives the growing darkness and deceit threatening to destroy their family.
