Pathrose, a wealthy contractor, skillfully manipulates the government through bribery and favors, aided by his loyal servant Subramony. The only person he can't influence is his neighbor, Sankara Varyar. Pathrose's wife, Marykutty, is a jealous woman, though their daughter Annie is kind and friendly with Varyar’s family – Sarojam, his wife, and Dr. Suresh, their son. Annie is in love with Suresh's friend Benny, but her parents want her to marry someone else. Suresh promises to assist Annie. Meanwhile, Varyar’s integrity increasingly troubles Pathrose.
