Description:
Sergei Parajanov's unfinished screenplay, "The Confession" (1990), exists in its original camera negative and was a deeply personal project for the filmmaker. Written in the 1960s, it served as Parajanov's imaginative recollection of his childhood, student life, marriage, imprisonment, and other key experiences. He dedicated the screenplay to director Mikhail Vartanov, adding a drawing to the cover and noting that only a director born in 1924 in Tiflis, Georgia, would truly be able to realize it. Parajanov himself foresaw that he wouldn't complete the film.
