Description:
This documentary explores life in Blšany through the perspective of Mr. Tříska, the village school principal and an amateur filmmaker who made a movie about the world's smallest community with a professional soccer team. He leads us through a quiet village shaped by the Communist era, which briefly comes alive every two weeks for a first league soccer game. "Meetings happened in the country," Tříska explains, "but executions and trials took place in town. You had to be careful in the countryside to avoid being denounced, but at the doctor's office, you knew you wouldn't have to pay for prescriptions. And the bus cost 1.50 crowns, not 10 like it does now."
