Description:
In October 1993, 120 Delta Force Commandos and Army Rangers were deployed to Mogadishu, Somalia, on a daylight mission to capture Mohammed Farrah Aidid, a terrorist leader who was disrupting U.N. food deliveries to the starving population in his effort to control the country through food. The mission quickly transformed into a desperate rescue as the American troops found themselves surrounded by Somali militia and engaged in intense fighting, becoming trapped and fighting for survival. The operation resulted in 18 American deaths, 70 injuries, and 3,000 Somali casualties. This documentary recounts the true story of "Black Hawk Down" through the recollections of American Special Forces survivors, alongside accounts from the Somali militiamen who fought in the battle.
