Chile, 1960s. The son of a young woman raising him alone is revealed to be a remarkably gifted painter. A local drugstore owner, an amateur painter himself, discovers the boy's talent and becomes determined to guide him towards a successful artistic career, inspired by the artists in his art books. Decades later, reflecting on his life, the pharmacist recounts the story of this young boy who showed immense artistic promise, but vanished on September 11th, 1973 – the day of the coup – taking all his paintings with him.
