NEUROO-X, a German-Swiss-Chinese entertainment company, creates immersive games that blur the line between reality and virtual worlds. Their latest product, the mysterious RED BOOK, promises the ultimate gaming experience by analyzing players' deepest desires and turning them into fantastical adventures. The company uses users’ psychological profiles to drive its storytelling. Shortly before the RED BOOK’s release, NEUROO-X’s Chief Development Manager dies. His lover, Ryuko, discovers a dark incident occurred during testing in China. As she investigates NEUROO-X's secrets, Ryuko struggles to distinguish reality from the game. She becomes consumed with saving her son, Walter, who has vanished into the RED BOOK’s digital world after logging in. In her fight against the corporation, Ryuko unwittingly fulfills NEUROO-X's intended narrative, finding herself in a realm of demons, witches, knights, and terrorists.
