Question Bridge: Black Males (2012)

This project takes many forms: a gallery show, a website, a book, and educational materials. It uses a "question bridge"—a video exchange of questions and answers—to challenge stereotypes about Black men created by America's white majority. Thomas and his team traveled the U.S., recording questions from almost 160 men, then having others answer those questions, and filming new questions from those responses, which were then answered by other participants. The project allows a wide range of men to connect and share their perspectives, despite differences in location, income, politics, and age.
