Description:
This film uses Super 8 footage shot by Dr. Oliver Sacks at Beth Abraham Hospital in the Bronx, New York, in the summer of 1969. The footage shows patients who had been given the drug L-Dopa and appeared to "awaken" after years of limited activity. The film combines this archival material with a solo saxophone score by Philip Glass, creating a cine-poem.
