Neil Young & Crazy Horse: Inside Greendale (2004)

"Inside Greendale" combines studio footage of Neil Young and Crazy Horse recording their album "Greendale" with scenes from the film of the same name, all assembled by Young in a unique mixed-media presentation. The result, featuring impressive special effects, enriches both the visual and musical aspects of Young's sprawling story about the Green family. This Northern California clan includes Earl Green, a Vietnam veteran who makes a deal with the devil to sell his paintings; his drug-dealing cousin Jed, who commits a crime and goes to prison; and his daughter Sun, an environmental activist fighting against oil companies in Alaska.
