Frances Stark's *Cat Videos* (1999-2002) documents the artist's cats at play and at rest within her apartment. Inspired by the visual joy of watching them, Stark's videos transform her home environment through their depiction of feline movement. Each video features a single song, lending a narrative framing to the typically aimless lives of domestic cats, elevating them to art. Created before the widespread availability of online video, *Cat Videos* inadvertently anticipates our modern fascination with internet cat videos and subtly examines how new technologies are shaping our attention spans.
