Barabajagal (2001)

Frances Stark's *Cat Videos* (1999-2002) documents the artist's cats playing and relaxing in her apartment. Inspired by the visual appeal of her cats and how their movements altered her view of her home, Stark created these videos. Each video features a single song, framing the typically passive life of a domestic cat as an art form. Made before YouTube, these videos foreshadow today's widespread popularity of online cat videos and inadvertently comment on the development of shorter attention spans in the digital age.
