A Whiter Shade of Pale, w/ Procul Harum 1967 (2001)

Frances Stark's *Cat Videos* (1999-2002) documents the artist's cats playing and relaxing in her apartment. Inspired by the visual appeal of her feline companions and how their movements altered her view of her home, Stark created these videos. Each video features a single song, framing the typically unmotivated lives of domestic cats as art. Produced before YouTube, these videos foreshadow our modern fascination with online cat videos and inadvertently comment on the development of short attention spans in the digital age.
