Description:
Around 1900, the head of an orphanage attempts to profit by selling the children into labor. The story begins as one orphan, Wim, is about to be sold to a cruel man who intends to use him for pickpocketing at the market with a monkey. During the journey, Wim escapes with the monkey, aided by Jet, a girl from the countryside, hiding in an old canalboat. At Jet's farm, Wim meets her sister Sien and her friend Ot, who agree to care for him and the monkey. When the cruel man discovers their hiding place, a chase ensues, and Wim is returned to the orphanage. However, Jet’s father, a schoolteacher, intervenes. A 3D story for the whole family about the beginning of mandatory schooling.
