Description:
For generations, the people of the Omo Valley in southwestern Ethiopia believed certain children were cursed, bringing illness, drought, and death to their community. These "cursed" children, known as "mingi," were killed. Lale Labuko, a 15-year-old educated man from the Kara tribe, witnessed the killing of a child in his village and learned of two older sisters he never knew who had also been killed. He resolved to end this brutal tradition. Over five years, this film follows Lale's efforts, alongside his tribe, to challenge this ancient practice.
