Description:
This new production of Macbeth, created in collaboration with Novosibirsk Opera, offers a modern take on the classic. Using innovative multimedia, it immerses the audience in the story with Google Earth satellite imagery, depicting a bleak square and the inside of a grand house. While the witches are absent, the production maintains a sense of oppressive atmosphere. The cast features acclaimed performers, including Lithuanian soprano Violeta Urmana as Lady Macbeth and Greek baritone Dimitris Tiliakos as Macbeth. Italian singers Ferruccio Furlanetto and Stefano Secco portray Banquo and Macduff, respectively. Conducted with energy and theatrical flair by Teodor Currentzis, music director of Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, this is Currentzis's second production at the Paris Opera.
