Description:
Born in Vietnam in 1926, Thich Nhat Hanh is a monk, Zen teacher, writer, and peace activist who organized a non-violent resistance movement following the Vietnam War's start. The film follows him around Memorial Day 2001 in Washington D.C., where he teaches Members of Congress about 'Mindful Living,' aiming to share his message of peace with those in power. Thousands attend his annual meditation retreats at his home base, Plum Village in France, where he facilitates rare gatherings between Palestinians and Israelis. In these gatherings, painful experiences are shared and discussed, fostering understanding of each other's suffering.
