Description:
Kesten is a scenic village on the border of Bulgaria, Turkey, and Greece. François Denis, a French sociologist, arrives to study ethnic conflict in the Balkans. He discovers that Muslims and Christians have peacefully coexisted there for centuries, despite its proximity to Kosovo. More intriguing to Denis are the villagers: Vladimír, who holds every local position; a poet yearning to see a specific film; and a smuggler driven by devotion to his brother. It's a captivating and oddly harmonious place where anything is possible – even wine flows from the taps.
