Aaron Linsdau is determined to be the first American to ski from Antarctica's coast to the South Pole and back – a grueling 1,400-mile solo journey across sub-zero temperatures and hurricane-force winds. Few have ever attempted this trek from Antarctica's edge, with one climber describing it as "ten times more difficult than Everest." While thousands have climbed Everest and twelve Americans have walked on the moon, only one other American has ever skied to the South Pole alone, and his attempt nearly ended in death.
