Description:
In a village in Madhya Pradesh, two communities clash over a new water pump. When Nathu (Kishore Kadam) protests what he sees as an unfair decision, he provokes the local landowner. The landowner then economically punishes Nathu's community, attempting to force them out of the village. After Nathu’s house is burned, he seeks refuge in a temple and prays for help. There, he is wrongly accused and violently assaulted by the landowner for violating a temple rule. It is revealed that the village conflict is being exploited as the basis for a film being made in Bombay, with the film's portrayal of the villagers significantly distorted, causing problems on set and ultimately leading to violence.
