Description:

Set against the backdrop of the 1930s, the film weaves together two stories: one in Berlin and another in Palestine. Mania Vilbouchevich Shohat, known as Tania, a Russian Jewish revolutionary, travels from Minsk to Palestine to join a collective. There, she advocates for feminism and observes a troubling change in men, from prioritizing self-defense to embracing aggression. Her friend, Else Lasker-Schüler, an expressionist poet and German Jew, remains in Berlin, writing and raising her son as the Nazi party gains power. She journeys to Jerusalem and envisions a park where Arabs and Jews can coexist. The film features her poems, revealing her inner thoughts and experiences. It explores the violence inherent in the founding of Israel, examining both the Nazis and the Zionists.
