Midnight Whispers (1988)

Midnight Whisper is a radio talk show where listeners share their stories. One night, a man calls in, confessing his long-held love for a woman who is now with another man for the sake of their daughter. The daughter then calls in, claiming her father is lying and her mother is cruel. The next day, the heartbroken mother calls to tell her side of the story. Kung fu star Moon Lee Choi-fung plays Lee Siu-hong, a troubled young woman from mainland China who runs away to become a Hong Kong prostitute. Flashbacks reveal her difficult past as her desperate mother (Josephine Koo Mei-wah) searches the city's red-light district.
