Description:
A way of life is ending for Marco, Bissoon, and their friends as the sugar factory they've dedicated their lives to is closing. The sugarcane fields are being replaced by resorts and tourist amenities, effectively pushing the working class out. As their community dissolves, some search for a new place, while others consider leaving the island. Bissoon feels a deep sense of loss and disillusionment with this change. Marco becomes drawn to Devi, the wife of the man in charge of the factory's demolition. Director David Constantin explores Mauritius's transition from tradition to modernity, revealing a reality beneath the idyllic surface.
