Description:
Identical twins Landry and Sylvinet are devastated when they're separated at fourteen. Landry is sent to work on a nearby farm after phylloxera destroys their father’s vineyards, while Sylvain, the stronger of the brothers, recovers from the shock. However, Sylvinet struggles, constantly unhappy. Their employer, the wealthy farmer Caillaud, is pleased with Landry's work and allows him to court Caillaud's daughter Madelon. A misunderstanding leads to Sylvinet running away into the forest. While searching for him, Landry finds an unlikely ally in Fadette, a wild child living with her grandmother and brother. Gradually, Landry forms a bond with the little savage.
