Description:
The spaceship Altares, equipped with a light-speed photon drive, departs an Earth-orbiting station. The crew, comprised of two families of scientific experts, travels to Alpha Centauri, experiencing time dilation during the journey. Upon arrival, they deploy satellites to relay data about the Centauri star system to Earth and assist future exploratory missions. *The Day After Tomorrow* (also known as *Into Infinity* in the UK) is a 1975 British science-fiction television special produced by Gerry Anderson between seasons of *Space: 1999*. It stars Brian Blessed, Nick Tate, Joanna Dunham, Katherine Levy, and Martin Lev. The special aired in the United States on NBC as part of their children's series in December 1975, and in the UK on BBC1 in December 1976.
