Description:
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Armenian minority in Nagorno-Karabakh sought independence from Azerbaijan. Former neighbors became enemies, and ordinary villagers were caught in a dangerous power struggle. In an Azerbaijani village bordering Karabakh, Kerim, a peasant farmer, is captured by Armenians. The village council decides to take an Armenian prisoner to secure his release. The wounded Armenian is held in a barn near Kerim's home, where his wife and three children anxiously await his return. The captive, like Kerim, has three children, struggles to make a living, and has never intended to cause harm; he simply wants to go home. But life in Karabakh has become brutal, and revenge is demanded.
