Description:
"The Man of Gold" is based on a novel by the renowned Hungarian storyteller, Jokai. The story unfolds in early 19th-century Hungary and centers on Timar (Ferenc Kiss), a ferryman working on a Danish tugboat. After saving the daughter (Marisa Kormos) of a Turkish nobleman from drowning, Timar is promised her hand in marriage. Suddenly wealthy, he discovers he's still longing for his first love, Noemi (Anna Fuzes), a flower girl. Timar endures hardship until he is finally allowed a heartfelt reunion with the woman he truly desires.
