Martha Eggerth stars in Casta Diva, a film centered on the life of famed Italian composer Vincenzo Bellini, portrayed by American actor Phillips Holmes. The movie prioritizes Bellini's romantic relationships over historical accuracy. The screenplay underwent multiple revisions, resulting in inconsistent character portrayals from actors Donald Calthrop and Arthur Margetson. While Martha Eggerth’s Polish accent stands out amidst a cast of British accents, she is visually striking and delivers a strong vocal performance. Casta Diva was beautifully filmed on location in Naples. This is not the 1954 remake directed by Gallone, nor the English-language version "The Divine Spark," also directed by Gallone and starring Eggerth.
