Description:
Hossein and Shaima have loved each other since they were children. War separates them as teenagers. They reunite in Kabul in the late 1990s. Poverty forces Hossein to fight, and he is left paralyzed by a shell splinter. Shaima is married off to a man forty years her senior and becomes pregnant. Because her husband still owes part of the bride price to her father, she is brought back into her family, where she lives with her five-year-old daughter. Despite their families' strict rules, they find ways to see each other, constantly fearing retaliation from both sides. They fight to maintain their love under these circumstances.
