Description:
"Line Describing a Cone" is a film that focuses on the physical light beam itself, rather than the information it carries when projected onto a screen. Projected normally on a 16mm projector, the light beam extends beyond the screen, requiring viewers to stand with their backs to the usual viewing position and look along the beam towards the projector. Beginning as a single line of light like a laser, the beam gradually transforms over the film's 30-minute duration into a complete, three-dimensional cone of light. The film explores the fundamental element of projected light, existing solely in real space. It is the first film to exist entirely in three dimensions.
