Rap War One (2004)

Dequan, a Brooklyn kid with aspirations of escaping his surroundings, wants a future beyond the typical fate of those around him. After losing his job and learning about his girlfriend's pregnancy, he decides he needs to quickly earn a large sum of money. His friend Brandon introduces him to The Pit, a secret Brooklyn club where aspiring rappers compete for cash and recognition. Run by a local gangster, G-Mega, Dequan thrives in the rap battles, gaining money but becoming entangled in a dangerous world of corruption, drugs, and violence from which he struggles to break free.
