Description:
Anjana enjoys a privileged life with her father, Dwarka Nath, in the Indian hills. Returning home after years away, she discovers Dwarka Nath has become increasingly strict, even resorting to public floggings of employees and villagers. She meets Jhumroo, a local villager, and they fall in love. Jhumroo introduces Anjana to his mother, Kamla, who warmly accepts her. Dwarka Nath, however, is furious and quickly arranges Anjana's marriage to his manager, Ramesh. Heartbroken, Jhumroo speaks with Anjana, who confesses her love but insists she must obey her father. Unbeknownst to them both, Anjana is not Dwarka Nath’s biological daughter but was abducted as a child by Kamla.
