Yasmin (1955)

In 18th Century Persia, a wealthy Sheikh manages properties and collects taxes for a comfortable life with his wife Zubeda and son Ahmad in their grand home. As Ahmad matures, Zubeda worries about his growing attachment to the women in their household and asks the Sheikh to involve him in the family business. The Sheikh agrees, tasking Ahmad with revenue collection, which he successfully undertakes. Soon after, the Sheikh learns Ahmad has been spending time with a friend, Farid, and is romantically involved with a dancer named Yasmin. Disturbed, the Sheikh sternly warns Ahmad to end the relationship with Yasmin and return home to fulfill his arranged marriage with Nadira, the daughter of Amir Qasim.
