WIR – EinUmstand (2012)

As we mature, we're given a blank slate – a life story we fill with experiences. We call it "life," but it's really just a narrative, often dominated by hardship rather than genuine living. We readily embrace this story, not because it's uplifting, but because it connects us to others and eases loneliness. We shed our individual selves and merge into the collective, finding safety in shared experiences. This exploration of this shared burden will be the focus of the next part of my lecture series. We may also consider our evolutionary past, specifically Neanderthals, who possessed a different sense of time. We, however, feel perpetually rushed, as if time itself is broken.
